Xbox Sees An End To Red Rings?

It would seem that Microsoft has released a new version of the 360 that seems to have fixed the problems. One of the major things that should be put to Microsoft is, why wasn’t this problem fixed within the first year of launch?

The console was released back in 2005 and it became clear there were problems with it later in the month when people started to experience the red rings of death for the very first time. This is basically when three quadrants of the front of the console light up red instead of the safe green option. You cannot use the console again until you send it off to be repaired.

Microsoft has had just over four years to fix the problem and only recently this year just started to ship new consoles with the fix. So what was the problem?

The console warms up over time and it beings to melt at the soldering which is what actually causes the red rings. There is no way at all that this can be fixed once you see this which is why they are called the rings of death. If you wrap up the console in a cold towel then you can put a short fix on the problem but it will return to you in the near future. This will actually cool down the console. However this is said to only fix the console for a short time so you still have to send it off at some point.

It isn’t really known why Microsoft have taken such a long time do fix this problem as it was costing them a lot of money to actually repair the consoles for free.

So whether it was the cable ties, Deutsch connectors or of course the electrical components at least they have fixed it.
