WOW Grinding Spots

There are two main reasons you may consider grinding in World of Warcraft.

To make some gold. If you are considering grinding for gold, consider gold farming guides to help you determine the best locations.
To get experience and level. If leveling is your primary gold, using a WOW in-game leveling guide will usually allow you to level fastest, however, many people still prefer grinding since it is something they can do while watching TV, listening to music, or chatting with friends.

Grinding is a still popular way to get ahead in World of Warcraft. AOE grinding (gathering mobs then killing them using AOE attacks) can particularly deliver good results, allowing players to gain both experience and gold very quickly. However, many people find grinding to be monotonous, and it is definitely not for everyone. If you have decided on the other hand that grinding is the way to go, here are some quick tips.

Get the largest bags you can afford. Since you will be looting tons of mobs, having lots of space in your bags is important unless you want to make frequent trips to vendors and the auction house.
Set your loot options so you auto-loot your corpses. There are several ways to do this, but the easiest way is to set it up under options. Shift-clicking on mobs will also allow you to get all the loot with one click.
Make sure you pick up skinning as one of your professions. This cannot be overstated. Many of the mobs you take down while grinding can be skinned. Almost everything you skin will sell for a lot of gold at the auction houses, providing a nice supplement to your gold earnings.

Levels 30 - 36

Shimmering Flats is a great grinding spot.
Stranglethorn Vale: Area near/around Nesingwary’s Expedition, Kurzen Encampment
Alterac Mountains: Crushridge Ogres

Levels 36 - 40

Stranglethorn Vale: Lashtail Raptors
Arathi Highlands: Boulderfist Outpost
