Rogues are one of 10 classes you can choose from in WoW. While wielding melee weapons a Rogue can deal massive amounts of damage with special attacks and other moves. The Rogue’s attacks are usually made by spending an amount of Energy. An Energy bar which shows the available amount of Energy can be found under the hit point bar of the player. A Rogue can have 100 Energy (with a certain talent 110 Energy even) which recovers over time if it is not at the maximum amount.
You will be able to choose between several races as a Rogue, namely the Night Elf Dwar, Human and Gnome class of the Alliance and the Blood Elf, Undead, Orc and Troll races of the Horde. People that play Rogues usually like to play versus the other faction and the Rogue class is very good at killing others. Because the Rogues can go stealth they can usually make a first move which gives them an edge in combat. Once in stealth a series of attacks becomes available followed by a series of attacks that become available once they are visible. Click here to watch the video: WoW Rogue Leveling Guide
The majority of the attacks the Rogues can make award them with combo points. In total you can place five combo points on a target. The combo points have use because the Rogue also has finishing moves that are stronger if more combo points are applied on the target. If in example you have five combo points on your target, your finishing moves will have a lot of effect.
The Rogue, unlike other classes that can DPS as well, do not have any healing spells or do not have any real tanking capabilities. When you do decide to play a Rogue however you can top damage meters with a bit of dedications. If you want to be on top of the damage list you should know the class well. This means that you must know all the attacks, good talent trees, the best attack rotations, which gear you should chase, which professions you should level and more. You should know which talent tree is made with what purpose and which talent points you can avoid and which should definitely be taken. Rogues can choose between the Assassination, Combat and Subtlety talent trees. For more information on WoW class guides, read our review: Warcraft Pros
The Combat tree is usually used for leveling. You will become harder to kill and will also be able to do more damage through attacks like Ghost Strike. You will gain a lot of avoidance which means that you will take less hits, both the hit and crit percentage will increase and your offhand will function better which will make leveling up easier.
As you gain levels, and especially when you reach the level cap, the Assassination tree becomes a more viable option. With the Assassination talent tree you will be able to dish out great amount of damage with Backstab and other good attacks. Most talents are based on attacking from behind which makes it less good for soloing. Most talents are based on attacking from behind which makes it less good for soloing.
If you have an enemy that is turned towards the tank however, you can attack the target from behind and spam your attacks to make amazing amounts of damage. The Subtlety talent tree is usually picked by players that enjoy PvP. Because you will become quite tough, harder to detect while stealthed and be able to do nice amounts of damage in a short period of time, this build is nice against enemy players. The build isn’t suited for PvP because you will lack damage on longer fights.
